Our Initiatives in Thailand
Partnership with Hotel and Catering Training Centre, Mae Sot (HCTC)
HCTC was founded in 2006 by Tak Border Child Assistance Foundation (TBCAF) and the European Institute for Cooperation and Development (IECD), for profit organisations, with an aim provide vocational training for underprivileged people from remote areas.
Since 2013, their students have been offered internship opportunities at Amari hotels and resorts, allowing them to gain professional experience and potentially, find employment after graduation that will help them become financially independent. The initiative also allows us to help build capacity for the country’s hospitality industry.
In 2015, BBL has started offering an annual scholarship grant of THB 100,000.- to support 2 of HCTC’s first year students to complete their 2-year course.
